Reinheimen Farm

Live like the locals did 150 years ago as a mountain farmer at cozy and authentic Farm Reinheimen!

Historic mountain farm

Forbergs-Ola

Born at Nordgard Forberg in Skjåk in 1760, Forbergs-Ola was always strongly drawn to the mountains and the metals he found there.

Forbergs-Ola found both gold and other valuable minerals in the mountains of Skjåk - and went to Falun in Sweden every winter with skis and toboggans to sell them. The outcome was so good that he bought the farm Søre Heggebotn, where he lived with his wife and four children.

Forbergs-Ola died at the age of 66 on one of his ski trips to Falun to sell precious metals from Skjåk.

Rebuilt in 1934 as a utility house at the old gate to Maihaugen. Moved to its current location in 1993, and renovated as a catering room.
